Ferrari is working on a track-focused model named the 296 GT3, and these images shed some light on its exterior styling. It is obvious now that the car is drastically different from its street counterpart (see video) in terms of both styling and powertrain.
Specifically, it looks much sharper than the GTB with a different roofline and glass dome. A large front splitter, vented wheel arches, and a towering rear wing are also present.
While the road-legal Ferrari 296 GTB uses a 3.0-liter V6 in conjunction with an electric motor for a total of 829 PS (818 hp / 610 kW), its track-only cousin eschews electrification in favor of a powerful six-cylinder unit (numbers pending).
The 296 GT3 is set to replace the 488 GT3, which was very successful in motorsports with 429 victories, 770 starts, and 107 titles.
