Ferrari films the 296 GT3 being tested in Fiorano

These official shots and video show the new Ferrari 296 GT3 racecar tearing its way through the Fiorano Test Circuit. We had only seen one dim-lit teaser pic before, so let's have a closer look.

The racer wears some camo, but the main aerodynamic elements can still be seen clearly. Starting at the front end, the lower apron is now concave, the splitter has vertical sections at both sides, and there are canards mounted farther up. Each front fender has air louvers, and the hood is ventilated as well.

Along with publishing the video, Ferrari announced the completion of Fiorano track tests for the model. When it finally comes out in 2023, the 296 GT3 will replace the outdated 488 GT3 and 488 GT3 Evo racers in a variety of tournaments. Power for the coupe comes from a non-hybridized 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine originally found on the GTB.
