This 43-year-old Ferrari 308 GT4 is available in the UK for mere £15,000 in a barn-find condition without engine. YouTuber Number 27 had a chance to examine the Italian exotic and called it ‘probably the world’s rustiest Ferrari.’
There is not a single well-preserved detail of the bodywork, with some panels rusted so badly you can put a hand through the holes. The interior is stock and appears to be slightly better off, but still requires a complete overhaul to be viable. The odometer shows 43,534 miles of use, or a touch above 70,000 kilometers. The wheels are perhaps the only reasonably well-preserved thing.
The owner says he dismantled the engine and sent it in for restoration. Once complete, it will be available to buy separately for much more than the car itself costs now.
Apparently, the seller only got his hands on the 308 GT4 several years ago and is unaware of its background. He also doesn’t know why it was abandoned like that, but believes it could be restored or otherwise turned into a modern art piece. Eight years ago, French artist Bertrand Lavier was able to sell another totaled 308 GT4 for $250,000 as an art object.
