This Vignale-tuned Ferrari 375 America is one out of two, costs $3.4M

You should consider haggling for this Ferrari 375 America if you happen to have U.S. $3.4 million lying around; only two such coupes exist in the world.

The original 375 model debuted in 1953 and came out in a series of only 12 units, including one convertible. Pininfarina created eight coupes and Alfredo Vignale the remaining three, landing only two with a unique body design. This is one of those two unique cars, and it was finished in 1954.

Exterior highlights begin with chromed grilles located behind the rear wheels, side air intakes, a panoramic rear glass dome, and a fastback-like two-door styling. The waistline also appears to merge the front and the rear fenders into one solid shape.

Back in 1954, the vehicle was exhibited at the Geneva and New York auto shows, after which a collector bought it for his private collection. He held on to the car until his demise in 1970, after which the car had changed hands multiple times until its eventual restoration just nine years ago. The restoration was partial and brought back its signature Bordeaux Red paint scheme, although the body still shows scratches and dents that need to be eliminated. The same goes for the interior with its cracked, worn leather trim.

Powering the ultra-rare vintage ride is a 4.5-liter V12 rated at 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW). A four-speed manual transmission sends the power to the wheels.
