Ferrari Testarossa restomod shows up on video

The Ferrari Testarossa is a true automotive icon of the 1980s that you can immediately recognize by its telltale “cheese grater” side stripes and tapering pop-up headlights. But as good as retro things can be, a mix between modern and retro is even better, as Officine Fioravanti aims to prove with its latest project.

One of the main goals is to make the restomod hit 200 miles per hour (322 km/h). This would necessitate boosting the engine from its usual 385 or 422 PS (380 or 416 hp; 283 – 310 kW, depending on the model). An anti-lock brake system and torque control would also be required.

Another goal is to drop the curb weight by at least 120 kg (265 lbs) by replacing OEM materials with modern lightweight ones.

Other highlights include custom suspension with adjustable sway bars and Öhlins electronic shocks, high-performance Brembo brakes, and a re-trimmed cabin.

The company does not provide any estimations as to when the car will be finished.
