MonacoCarAuctions will be holding a sale this weekend dedicated to a unique Ferrari 365 GTC/4 reimagined as a beach buggy upon request from the Sheikh of Qatar. It is anyone’s guess how much a vehicle like this may be worth.
Ferrari had no hand in the project: the entire transformation has been carried out by Willy Felber, a Swiss importer of Italian supercars. He is also believed to be the one who came up with the idea, while Sheikh Al Thani merely agreed to fund the project. That said, there is no single ‘official origin story’ of the car. Other sources claim the Emir of Qatar himself contacted Felber for the bespoke makeover.
In the transformation process, the supercar lost its back seat row and doors, ended up with a custom body and a 20-horsepower boost to the standard V12. It now hits the wheels with 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW). The wheels themselves are new and more suitable to driving on sand, and the ground clearance is appreciably higher.
