Video: Listen to the Ferrari 296 GTB sing in EV and V6 modes

Ferrari introduced its Berlinetta-shaped, plug-in hybrid supercar named the 296 GTB in June 2021, and while the shipments haven’t started yet, a spy video was filmed where you can distinctly hear its different engine tunes.

The whine of the electric motor follows the camouflaged Ferrari test vehicle as it zaps past the camera, reminding us a bit of the SF90 Stradale. However, things liven up considerably the second time around, when the supercar returns for another lap with its raging V6 fired up. Listen to it now, you will be impressed!

Most of the power comes a 3.0-liter petrol engine rated at 663 PS (654 hp / 488 kW), while the electric motor contributes another 167 PS (165 hp / 123 kW). The resulting cumulative output amounts to 830 PS (819 hp / 610 kW). The car needs 2.9 seconds to get from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) and tops out at 330 km/h (205 mph). It only has 25 km (15.5 miles) of all-electric range with a top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph).
