Ferrari, a famous Italian luxury car manufacturer, has come forth with a long-awaited official announcement of the brand’s first SUV.
The statement was made by none other but Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, during a press conference held at the Detroit International Motor Show.
The Ferrari top manager went as far as to say that the new vehicle will compete with the Lamborghini Urus for the title of the fastest SUV on the market, but will primarily make its stand against the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
It bears reminding that the Lamborghini Urus sprints 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.6 seconds and has a peak going speed of 305 km/h (195 mph), which is an impressive achievement in its weight category. To compare, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio achieves the same acceleration in 3.8 seconds.
The new Italian trailblazer is likely to be released to the mass market in two years.
