The special project division of Ferrari has presented KC23 – a one-off track weapon built for one of the Italian marque’s most hardcore fans. Built with the 488 GT3 Evo as a starting point, it features a bespoke body with lifting doors and unique styling cues.
The design team came up with something entirely special for the project, rendering the original 488 completely unrecognizable. The coupe ended up with butterfly-wing doors and lots of air intakes all around. The fender vents automatically close when parked thanks to servo-powered trim panels. The large rear wing is removable.
The supercar comes with two wheel sets to switch between: 18-inch for the track and a staggered 21/22-inch set for normal driving. The latter bit is somewhat puzzling, because the car is not street-legal in the first place.
Inside, the racing aesthetic of the 488 GT3 Evo has been largely preserved with a steering yoke, track-ready dash instruments and a safety cage. The bucket seats have been wrapped in Alcantara for a little extra comfort, and side mirrors have been replaced with cameras. The displays were put on the ceiling.
The inimitable KC23 will arrive at the Goodwood Festival this weekend and proceed to the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy on August 1, where it will stay for several weeks.
