Coachbuilder Touring Superleggera has a history spanning as far back as 1926. It ceased operations after four decades in the business and only came back to life 13 years ago. This mid-engined coupe named Arese RH95 is its latest creation.
The company neglects to mention it, but the car must be a Ferrari 488 Pista in disguise: note the overall cabin layout and the identical powertrain specs (V8 TT, 720 metric horsepower, 7-speed pre-selective transmission).
You will have a harder time recognizing the Ferrari on the outside, of course, thanks to a custom bodywork reminiscent of last year’s Touring Superleggera Aero 3 (watch the video for a closer look at that one). The green display car featured in our gallery here is the first example out of a planned batch of eighteen. Another one – the Alfa Romeo-inspired red-and-white one shown here on some 3D renderings – will be available to collectors as well. Finally, an orange-and-blue Gulf Oil livery is also on offer. A single example takes six months to build.
The new F8 Tributo model phased out the original Ferrari 488 Pista a few years ago. Despite this, Touring Superleggera decided to carry on with its project and still use the Pista as the starting point, arguing that the Tributo was a relatively minor upgrade over it.
