Ferrari 488 Pista gets turned into convertible

An unusual reveal took place at the recently opened Pebble Beach car show in California. Ferrari has treated the audience of the show to a Pista sport car with the convertible body style.

The new Ferrari 488 Pista Spider sports a unique livery which is white with a sporty blue streak running along the entire body. It is also 90 kg (200 lb) heavier than its non-convertible counterpart, but Ferrari insists that it doesn’t affect its acceleration performance in any way.

Speaking of which, the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider comes equipped with the same engine as its prototype vehicle. The 3.9-liter V8 turbo engine rated at 711 hp (530 kW) accelerates it 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and enables it to ultimately reach 340 km/h (211 mph).

The front part of the car has been considerably reworked. The splitter became more prominent, and the air intake increased in size. The car got a carbon diffusor, two shining tailpipes and an aerodynamic body kit.

Clients may opt for a Ferrari 488 Pista Spider with a special set of solid carbon wheels.

Prices and availability will be announced later.
