According to CarBuzz, Ferrari is going to launch five production cars based on its 499P model that won this year’s Le Mans race (in the gallery below). The media were able to find three new trademarks apparently meant for four road-legal vehicles and a racecar.
Specifically, the publication discovered patents for the following models: 499 GTB, 499 Speciale and 499 Modificata. It looks like ‘499’ will be the name of the standard street-legal hypercar, while the ‘Speciale’ suffix will be used for a hardcore top spec. CarBuzz believes that both models may emerge in coupe and Spider body variants to choose from.
The Ferrari 499 Modificata is on track to becoming the most extreme member in its family, a track-only vehicle as technically close to a prototype racer as possible. Since the regulations applying to privately sold racecars are not as restrictive as most racing rules, the 499 Modificata might end up looking even more impressive than its Le Mans parent.
The general assumption is that Ferrari will introduce all these cars as a part of its XX program, but when it may happen remains unknown at this time.
