Ferrari 550 Targa Top mates a V12 with a manual transmission

The tuning company known as Touring Superleggera has been on a roll these past two years, churning out one memorable Ferrari restomod after another. Soon after unveiling the Veloce12 Coupe (see video), it introduced a Barchetta version of it and has now followed up with an Aperta.

Like its two siblings, the Aperta rides on Ferrari 550 underpinnings, but does so in a decidedly more modern way thanks to TracTive suspension components and Brembo brakes. It also flaunts heavily revised bodywork where not a single panel stays exactly the same as it was.

The biggest selling point comes in the shape of a roof that’s no longer fixed. Instead, it now consists of two removable Targa panels you can easily detach and store in the trunk when not needed. To compensate for the loss of luggage space, Touring Superleggera adds a small luggage compartment right behind the seats. Like the rest of the cabin, it is lined in fine, soft leather.

The 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 continues to deliver its usual 485 PS (478 hp / 357 kW) to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Accelerating from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 4.4 seconds.

All pricing details are private, but we hear that the production run will be strictly limited, so get yours while you can if you have what it takes.
