Ferrari says it intends to keep turbos away from V12s, thank you very much

The Prancing Horse is adamant about leaving its V12 powertrain naturally aspirated with no forced induction of any kind.

Ferrari’s latest supercar, the 12Cilindri, packs a 6.5-liter non-turbo twelve-pot rated at a healthy 830 PS (819 hp / 610 kW). The company says it had already conducted the research necessary to make it Euro 6e compliant. Keeping the mill naturally aspirated is a matter of principle: it’s all about keeping alive the spirit and the emotions associated with traditional supercars.

At the same time, the company’s V6 and V8 lineups have long been running on twin-turbo power.
