A man in England has stumbled upon an abandoned freight box containing parts of a Ferrari 250 GTO sport car produced in the early 1960s. As it later turned out, the parts once belonged to a now-deceased famous car collector.
The box contained body parts, a steel framework, a 12-cylinder engine, parts of chassis and brake mechanisms, rims with tires, and certain interior elements, including dashboard parts.
Apparently, the collector had more storage boxes like this, containing parts of prototype Maserati, Abarth and Ferrari racecars. Many of these are still in peak condition and in the original packaging.
The find will be sold at an auction.
