New V12-packing Ferrari mule spied on the streets

Ferrari is getting a V12-based 812 replacement ready to rumble after the initial announcement in the spring of 2021. Test vehicles haven’t been sighted as often as we’d like so far, but this weekend was a marked improvement.

A recent batch of spy shots depicts what looks like a regular Ferrari Roma until you notice its much wider, longer nose with massive air intakes in the front bumper. This inevitably prompts the assumption that the engine bay holds something much larger than the Roma’s usual V8.

It is common practice for Ferrari to test new vehicles in test mule bodies: the much-anticipated Ferrari Purosangue SUV, which you can see in the enclosed video, has been mostly tested in Maserati Levante disguise.

The new V12 supercar is expected to eclipse the current 812 Competizione coupes in terms of raw performance, which will be no small feat considering they have 830 PS (819 hp / 610 kW) and 692 Nm (510 lb-ft) of torque.
