Amalgam Collection, a renowned manufacturer of meticulously precise car replicas, has announced its latest product – a 1:4 reproduction of a Ferrari Daytona SP3 engine complete with its seven-speed gearbox. Only 599 units will be made and offered at U.S. $15,250.

The development took 3,500 hours, the company says, and involved consulting official Ferrari documentation along with obtaining the marque’s certificates of authenticity. Piecing together just one such unit required 325 hours of work.

The engine and gearbox assembly measures 430 mm (16.8 inches) long and 180 mm (7 inches) tall. Everything is made from metal, plastic or carbon fiber. There are thousands of parts.

Like the real Ferrari Daytona SP3 introduced in the fall of 2021, the replica will emerge in a production run of just 599 units. The SP3 became the third entry in the automaker’s Icona lineup dedicated to its legendary classics of the distant past. Its 6.5-liter V12 was tuned to deliver 840 PS (829 hp / 618 kW).

It is not the first time that the Daytona SP3 gets replicated, though. A Lego brick set depicting the complete supercar came out in May 2022.
