Many collectors would never dare subject their exotic Ferrari F40s to a stiffer-than-usual breeze, but the driver in this video seems confident sending it rolling on asphalt and drifting through dirt.
The footage appears filmed at a meeting of supercar owners: you can catch glimpses of a Bugatti Veyron, a Koenigsegg hypercar and a Ferrari 599 GTB, among others. The F40 is the only one to have fun in the dirt and dust, though.
The track was reportedly originally built for quad bikes, and the driver’s initial attempts at cutting corners in a controlled drift failed. Nonetheless, he still managed to show quite a few stunts, went across a field and cooked up some donuts next to some hay piles.
Ferrari only produced slightly more than 1,300 F40 units, not all of which survived the test of time. Each came powered by a 2.9-liter eight-cylinder rated at 478 PS (471 hp / 352 kW). A similar supercar with 6,407 miles (10,311 kilometers) under its belt fetched its seller $1,386,000 USD at an auction last year. Well-kept coupes usually sell for even more than that.
