Rare RHD Ferrari F50 goes on sale in Australia

This Ferrari F50 belongs to a limited run of just 349 units, out of which only eight were later retrofitted with a right-hand drive system. It is now on sale without an asking price.

The Ferrari flagship debuted back in 1995 (see video) and was proclaimed the marque’s most Formula-esque street-legal car at the time. It was a carbon-fiber monocoque with two doors, no power steering and no ABS. Its 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 made use of Formula 1 tech and churned out 520 PS (513 hp / 382 kW) and 471 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque. The supercar needed 3.7 seconds to get to 100 km/h (62 mph) and maxed out at 325 km/h (202 mph).

The example on sale is #298 assembled in 1997. Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina converted it to right-hand drive configuration in 2000, when it still was the official Ferrari coachbuilder.

According to the auction holder, the vehicle was originally made for a client in Australia, but ended up in the UK until it finally shipped Down Under in 2011. This means it had two owners, who put 34,200 km (21,250 miles) on it.
