A Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta roadster with mere 260 km (161 miles) on the odometer went up on sale only to go up from one to three million USD in 16 minutes. The current bid is at $4,690,420, with two weeks before the closing.
The Maranello manufacturer used the word ‘Aperta’ for an open-top variant of its LaFerrari flagship. The vehicle packed a 6.3-liter V12 and an electric motor, which made 953 PS (940 hp / 701 kW) in total and took it from standing still to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under three seconds.
Only 210 units was made, out of which 200 was sold at market prices. Ferrari reserved nine units for its own purposes and sold the final example at a charity auction, winning $10,000,000.
This particular ride came out five years ago with an electronic diff lock, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, staggered forged wheels sized 19 and 20 inches across, and a removable roof ($41,000 option). The listing points out that the car cost $2,279,800 new with $113,000 invested in options and custom trim details.
