Ferrari Purosangue spied testing in production body

The long-anticipated Purosangue SUV has been spotted driven in and around Maranello, Italy, with a body looking more production-ready than any prototypes we had seen before. The premiere is expected to take place in September.

Before Ferrari entered the crossover SUV domain, it experimented around with unique car formulae, coming up with a couple of original 2+2 coupes and even a GTC4Lusso with four driven wheels. As such, it is not exactly a total newcomer to this market segment.

According to expectations, the Purosangue will arrive to us equipped with either a turbocharged V8 or a hybridized V12. The top powertrain might be taken from the LaFerrari hypercar, where it makes 963 PS (950 hp / 708 kW). Out of these, the main engine makes 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and the electric motor handles the remaining 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW).

Another possible option is the Ferrari SF90 powertrain, which combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors for 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW) total.
