Ferrari has shared a video teaser previewing an enigmatic vehicle scheduled to premiere on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Judging by the vid, we are in for ‘something special’, and there are some hints that the ride could be all-electric.
The teaser is not particularly informative, focusing on a steering wheel traced in the darkness by a single wandering ray of light. If you look closely, you may notice carbon paddle shifters, the same trim on the wheel rim and buttons on the spokes.
Where things get interesting is the soundtrack. As Carscoops points out, it consists entirely of the wind blowing and the crickets chirping – no engine rumble or tire squeal to disrupt the idyllic near-silence. What else can it be if not a downright confession that the car is completely electric? If so, things are going to get interesting – it is going to be Ferrari’s first full-fledged EV, after all.
Then again, the sounds might as well hint at an open-top car design. If so, we would imagine a soft-top version of the Ferrari Roma Spider as the most likely candidate.
Motor1 seems to support the latter theory, pointing out that a masked prototype with Ferrari Roma outlines was spotted on the streets as early as the fall of 2022.
