Ferrari’s fastest car smashed against a concrete wall is a painful sight

The part-electric, 1,000-horsepower SF90 Stradale takes skill to drive safely, and the driver of this particular example from near Ventimiglia, Italy might have had less than enough.

Judging by the photos and the video from the place of the incident, a hypercar with an Assetto Fiorano upgrade package installed had its left side destroyed in a collision with a concrete wall. Both fenders are crumpled on the driver’s side, the front bumper is damaged as well, and the left headlamp fell out. Seeing how unnaturally the left wheels are swiveled, it looks like the suspension did not fare too well, either.

Curiously enough, the right side has its own share of defects. The side mirror is smashed, and there are cracks on the windshield. A special license plate suggests it could be a press car for reviewers. What caused the crash and whether anyone was injured in the incident remains unknown at this time.

Powering the SF90 Stradale is a four-liter, twin-turbo V8 that delivers 780 PS (769 hp / 574 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) to the wheels. A trio of electric motors kick in for another 220 PS (217 hp / 162 kW). The standard sprint lasts mere 2.5 seconds, hitting 200 km/h (124 mph) takes another 6.7 seconds, and the top speed lies at 340 km/h (211 mph).

Opting for the Assetto Fiorano package helps shave off 30 kg (66 lbs) off the curb weight thanks to carbon-fiber underbody, wheels and doors. The kit also includes Multimatic motorsports-ready dampers, titanium springs, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
