We have already reported about Ferrari working on a compact-sized replica of the 250 Testa Rossa model from the 1950s, and we now know how much it will cost, thanks to a newly launched online configurator.
The kids’ car is 25% smaller than the original, but faithfully preserves its main components and proportions. The all-aluminum body is made by hand using the same technology as when the full-size supercar was created 70 years ago.
The toy ride features sophisticated suspension, brakes on all wheels and a custom steering system closely based on original blueprints. As an electric replica, it carries three batteries on board and has over 80 km (50 miles) of range.
The production won’t begin until late 2021, but you can have your pre-order registered now. Choosing options, like a bespoke cabin or a Testarossa racing livery, will ramp up the price considerably.
Only 34 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa racers were made back in the time. They won three Le Mans races and many other championships, earning the title of the fastest cars on the track and on the highway.
Responsible for the replica is Little Car, the same company that makes DB5 Junior replicas for Aston Martin and the Baby II model for Bugatti. The latter is much more affordable than the Ferrari, but also smaller.
