In May this year, Officine Fioravanti got us excited with teaser pics of a restored and modernized Ferrari Testarossa. In a follow-up from this weekend, it shows us the 1980s-era icon without any disguise on.
The team managed to keep the famous 4.9-liter flat-12 engine under the hood, but overhauled it to produce 517 PS (510 hp / 380 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, an impressive step up from the original 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) and 490 Nm (361 lb-ft). The technical ins and outs of the tuning remain to be disclosed, however.
What we do know is that the coupe now doesn’t max out until 324 km/h (201 mph) in a straight line, while the original hit its metaphorical ceiling at 290 km/h (180 mph). Elsewhere, the restomod features ABS, Öhlins shocks, and Brembo racing brakes.
The exterior styling is extremely faithful to the original, but upsized aftermarket wheels certainly stick out of the picture. The OEM set was 16 inches across, while here, they are staggered at 17 inches front and 18 inches rear.
Gone is the outdated plastic décor in the cabin, replaced with stylish aluminum accents and modern trim elements. An infotainment system is included, and the OEM car phone has been amended with Bluetooth connectivity for easy calls.
Despite all the modifications and improvements, the Ferrari Testarossa by Officine Fioravanti manages to weigh around 130 kilos (287 lbs) less than its factory-stock counterpart.
