This Testarossa restomod lets you switch between ‘past’ and ‘present’ power modes

Officine Fioravanti showed us a camouflaged Ferrari Testarossa late last year that it intended to restore from the ground up, and the car has finally shipped. The overhauled engine is its main highlight, but there are others as well.

Specifically, the antique supercar got to keep its original five-liter flat-twelve cylinder block under the hood, but received new and improved pistons and camshafts. Together with flexible electronic injection coming to replace the outdated mechanical design, the modifications enabled the engine to rev up safely to 9,000 RPM, a huge improvement over the already impressive 6,700 RPM of the original.

The driver can switch the powertrain into classic mode and get 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) or turn on the modern enhancements and enjoy 500 PS (493 hp / 268 kW). The clever solution lets you get an idea about the acceleration and handling of the original supercar. Once in its ‘present time’ mode, the vehicle can hit a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph), which is 29 km/h (18 mph) higher than the OEM-rated speed ceiling.

On the outside, the coupe from the 1980s boasts retractable LED headlights, 17- and 18-inch staggered wheels and a white paintjob instead of the original red. The interior makes use of light brown perforated leather, and the phone at the front passenger’s side is functional once again thanks to an in-built Bluetooth transmitter.
