A unique Ferrari Testarossa with less than 22,500 km (14,000 miles) under its belt since 1989 will go on sale at the Le Mans circuit auction on July 2, 2022.
The car belonged to a French family. Ten years ago, when its original owner died, the coupe went over to his daughter, but she never used it. As a result, the car last left the garage as far back as 2003.
It is still remarkably well preserved for its age, excusing apparent aftermarket mods such as the steering wheel and floor mats. The stock mid-engined Testarossa (watch the video for an in-depth look) came equipped with a 4.9-liter flat-12 engine capable of 370–390 PS (365–385 hp ; 272–287 kW) depending on the country of origin and the model year. It could sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.8 seconds and hit 160 km/h (100 mph) in 11.4 seconds. The top speed amounted to 290 km/h (180 mph).
Modest mileage, nice condition and reasonable selling price (expected to fall within €70,000 – €110,000) make this Testarossa a valid investment target for anyone capable of restoring it properly.
