North American car dealerships continue selling mint-condition cars assembled several years ago. According to Motor1, Stellantis led the last year’s ranking with 48 vehicles sold, notably including a Dodge Viper discontinued in 2017. There are examples from other automakers, too.
Stellantis managed to sell 24 Fiat 124 Spider roadsters in 2022 despite the car dropping out in production in 2019. It also moved 16 Fiat 500 and 500 L models that retired at about the same time, as well as two Chrysler 200 and four Dodge Dart. The latter has not been produced since 2016.
In turn, BMW sold five i8 hybrids that last rolled off the assembly line in 2020, as well as nine i3 hatchbacks that left North America a year later.
Americans also bought two Lexus GS examples (discontinued in 2020), one 2018 Infiniti Q70 and three 2020 Acura RLX sedans.
