The Italy-based car manufacturer Fiat has posted first official photos of its latest development, the four-door sedan named Cronos. The vehicle will be released exclusively on the Latin American market.
Cronos draws inspiration from Argo, a hatchback model which premiered in spring of 2017. It will be produced in Argentine, the first copies coming off the assembly line early in 2018.
While Cronos may have borrowed the overall look and feel of Argo, it still features new bumpers, radiator grille, and rear lights. Unfortunately, Fiat has chosen to keep its interior design a mystery for the time being.
As for the technical specifications, it has been announced that the new Fiat Cronos comes with two engine options – 1.3L / 99 HP and 1.8L / 130 HP. It should also be pointed out that these engines are designed specifically for the Latin American market and can run on both gasoline and ethanol.
The new Fiat Cronos is meant to become the successor of two other cars of the Italian brand, Linea and Grand Siena. According to car industry experts, its primary competitor is the Volkswagen Virtus, the mass production of which began a week ago in Brazil.
