Meet Fiat 363, a compact CUV for Brazil

The Brazilian division of Fiat has shared images of a new modest-sized crossover SUV set to go on sale in summer. The car is only known as “Number 363” so far, but it should soon get a production name.

Customers will have three trim levels to choose from named Domo, Pulse, and Tuo. Despite its obvious similarity to the Argo hatchback, local newspapers claim the new car is an original design based on the MLA platform.

Like the Argo, the 363 will use a 1.3-liter non-turbo engine mated to a manual transmission and good for 109 PS (107 hp / 80 kW). A new 1.0-liter three-cylinder option is rumored to be underway with around 128 PS (126 hp / 94 kW) and 206 Nm (152 lb-ft). Pour in ethanol, and the output will increase to 131 PS (129 hp / 96 kW). An Aisin CVT will allegedly deliver the momentum to the wheels.

Interior highlights include a touchscreen display sized 8.4 or 10.1 inches across depending on the spec and a front panel not unlike that of the Jeep Compass. 4G, Wi-Fi and a virtual wallet are all expected to be on the list of features.

Sales will begin this summer starting from 80,000 Brazilian Real ($14,940 USD right now). A coupe-shaped CUV dubbed the 376 is expected to complement the range next year with a slanted roof, an elongated body and a larger wheelbase. This version will cost closer to 120,000 Real ($22,412).
