The North American car manufacturer Dodge has announced the forthcoming release of a new compact sedan based on the FIAT Cronos.
The new vehicle goes without a name so far, but, according to an official source, it’s going to assume a market position below Dodge Neon, which is basically a redesigned FIAT Tipo.
The new FIAT Cronos is a modest-sized sedan based off the MP-S platform which has recently debuted in Latin America. Industry professionals speculate that its U.S. version is likely to be branded with Dodge logos instead of FIAT.
The Latin American version of FIAT Cronos comes with the 1.3-liter FireFly and the 1.8-liter E.TorQ Evo engines to choose from, whereas the latest Dodge only gets the latter, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission.
