Fiat last used the ‘Topolino’ moniker over six decades ago, but it looks like the badge comes back with a new supermini EV for Europe. According to Automotive News, the vehicle represents an upmarket version of the Citroen Ami, and the dealerships have already seen it.
The Ami is categorized under quadricycles in Europe, which means anyone 14 years old or older can drive one. This is because the engine makes only 8 horsepower (6 kilowatts) and the top speed does not exceed 45 km/h (28 miles per hour). Once fully charged, the Ami has 75 km (46.6 miles) of driving range.
Like the car it is based upon, the Topolino will likely emerge in two variants: passenger and commercial. There could also be a convertible variant with tarpaulin top.
