Fiat celebrates 120 years with three special Fiat 500 builds

Italian car manufacturer Fiat will be celebrating its 120th birthday with the release of three limited car series appropriately titled the “120th”. These will be based on the Fiat 500 hatchback, the 500X SUV and the 500L compact van. All three will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Compared to the main Fiat 500 line, the special series sports a unique black-and-white livery that has never been available before. If you find it not to your taste, you may instead opt for either a “Black + Pearl White” or a “Black + Silver Grey” version. Regardless of your choice, the car will ship with an exclusive wheel set and a badge saying “120th”.

All vehicles get an advanced multimedia system with remote car status lookup, various driver aids, and services by Google and Apple.

The 500X 120th SUV will ship with a choice between a 1.0-liter turbo engine rated at 120 hp (90 kW) and a more affordable 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated engine producing 110 hp (82 kW). Further options include a 1.3-liter unit with 95 hp (71 kW) and a 1.6-liter MultiJet engine with 120 hp (90 kW). All four come linked to a manual transmission.

The 500 120th hatchback will be available with three engines ranging between 0.9 and 1.2 liters in size and rated between 69 and 85 hp (51 – 63 kW).

The 500L 120th compact van will ship with three powertrain options, too: 1.4 Fire (95 hp / 71 kW), 1.3 MultiJet II (95 hp / 71 kW), and 1.6 MultiJet (120 hp / 90 kW). Transmission can be manual or semi-automatic.

Aside from the anniversary series, Fiat will attend the Geneva show with a special edition of its Panda city car, called Connected by Wind. The vehicle will feature broadband Internet connection, SIM card support, and a full-fledged Wi-Fi router on board that will support up to 15 simultaneous connections. It will also take advantage of a custom exterior and cabin.
