To celebrate the anniversary of the Fiat 500, the Italian carmaker has produced yet another special edition of the iconic vehicle, called Dolcevita. Let us see what is on offer.
Customers will be able to choose between two body styles: hatchback (sunroof included) and convertible. Among other things, the latter sports a soft top adorned with horizontal white and blue stripes. The designer team drew inspiration from lounge chairs and beach umbrellas of the 1960s Italian Riviera.
The summer theme continues inside the car, where you can find a wood-trimmed instrument cluster, seats wrapped in ivory-hued leather, red stitching, and braided seat centers.
Both the hatchback and the convertible will ship in Gelato White. You will be able to tell them from a plethora of other special editions by the telltale ‘Dolcevita’ logo at the rear, 16-inch alloy wheels painted white, and chromed side mirror caps.
The Fiat 500 Dolcevita will offer a choice between a 1.2-liter gasoline engine rated at 69 horsepower (50 kilowatts), its CNG counterpart with a similar output, and a 0.9-liter engine capable of 85 hp (63 kW). Transmissions include manual and Dualogic (dual-clutch, semi-automatic).
It is also perhaps worth reminding that the current generation of the Fiat 500 has been on the market for 12 long years now. Despite the venerable age, the car enjoys considerable demand, with slightly under 188,500 units sold in Europe in 2018 alone.
