Those familiar with the iconic Fiat 500 series will be pretty amazed to see what tuners did to the classical urban ride two-thirds of a century ago. The car has been converted to a six-wheeler truck with a natural wooden bed, and after sitting for three decades in a museum since the restoration, it is finally up for auction.
Ollearo, a coachbuilder that used to do its business in Turin, Italy, built this one based on a regular Fiat 500 back in 1950. The truck ended up with a severely reshaped body and a third axle. The auction ad does not mention how many of these are just for show, but given a 16-PS (16-hp / 12-kW) midget of an engine under the hood, we cannot imagine the number being any greater than one.
Back in its glory days, this particular Fiat 500 C Ollearo served as a mobile wine cabinet and bar, so it did not need much power in any case.
