This Fiat police car has 18 PS under the hood

A 52-year-old Fiat 500 Carabinieri is up for bidding in Italy in great technical condition with nearly 73,000 km (45,360 miles) under its belt. The top bid is currently at €9,500.

The seller provides no background for the vehicle, claiming only that it served as a real patrol car of Italian carabineers. There is only a police livery and a blue beacon on the roof to support these words, however.

In terms of power, the three-door compact is as docile as they get, packing 18 PS (18 hp / 13.5 kW) and a four-speed manual transmission. Accelerating from zero to 80 km/h (50 mph) was a matter of lethargic 35 seconds with this kind of engine. The trim level is F, but the owner had the car specced with a vinyl interior, a white plastic steering wheel, and a retractable soft top.

According to the seller, the car has recently been serviced, its liquids and liners replaced and new whitewall tires installed.
