Fiat mentioned an intention to build a convertible based on the 500X SUV in January 2021, but never supplied any details. As we now know, the car isn’t your typical cabriolet; it’s the same old SUV with a modest-sized cloth top in the middle of the roof.
If the teaser video is any indication, the model goes by the name of Yachting. It sports a fabric-draped window with guiding rails that you can open for an extra dose of sun and fresh air. The important bit is that the body framework stays rigid, which is essential for a crossover SUV.
The Fiat 500X Yachting obviously draws inspiration from marine sports, as evidenced by its name and certain interior trim details. The body also wears an ocean-inspired livery.
