An unusual Fiat vehicle with the name 500 Jolly rolled out onto the streets in Italy 60 years ago. The people didn’t waste any time in nicknaming it “Spiaggina”, which means beach car. To celebrate the anniversary, Fiat has released two special editions of the vehicle.
The first one, appropriately named Fiat 500 Spiaggina, is a collaboration effort by Pininfarina and Garage Italia. The vehicle uses the 500C model as base and sacrifices the second seat row for a spacious trunk compartment laid out with solid wood. There is even an inbuilt shower cabin for washing sand off the beach gear. The front row is occupied by a solid waterproof sofa.
The pickup truck can be pre-ordered now with any of the authorized Fiat dealerships in Europe. Prices remain unannounced.
The other one is called Fiat 500 Spiaggina'58 and is essentially a facelifted 500C with lush interior trimming. The convertible ships with chrome-coated side mirror holders, 16-inch retro wheels, an original light-blue paintjob and a two-color interior finish.
The Fiat 500 Spiaggina'58 will come equipped with fuel-efficient 0.9L and 1.2L engines capable of 69 and 85 hp (51 / 63 kW), respectively. The production batch will consist of 1,958 cars priced at €21,350.
