All five concepts seen here are going to become production cars, says Fiat. They all exhibit rugged SUV charms, but are unibody crossovers by design. The first one is scheduled to reach production in time for the company’s 125th birthday in July, with the others set to follow one per year over the next three years.
If we had to guess, we’d say the Fiat City Car looks the readiest for mass production. It is a compact-sized, utilitarian hatchback that looks like a modern reinterpretation of the Fiat Panda. It sports plenty of telltale EV design traits and has eco-friendly materials in its trim woven from recycled plastic and bamboo fiber.
Then there is the Fiat Pick-Up – a prototype of a light truck inspired by the Fiat Strada model popular in Brazil. According to Fiat executives, the new all-electric truck will be targeting active leisure enthusiasts in South America and will sell just as well worldwide as the Strada did in Brazil.
Next down the line is the Fiat Fastback, a sporty-looking CUV for Latin America, Middle East and Europe. There’s also the Fiat SUV, a large vehicle that its designers jokingly call “the Giga-Panda”.
Rounding off the concept lineup is the Fiat Camper, the company’s vision of a vehicle capable of realizing the dreams of many people wishing to spend more time outdoors.
All vehicles are apparently based on a new global architecture designed by Stellantis. It will support all kinds of powertrains from all-electric to hybrid and ICE.
