Fiat Grande Panda shows up in official images

Fiat has shared the first photos of its upcoming compact hatchback, the Grande Panda. It looks like a clone of the latest Citroen C3 and Opel Frontera, just somewhat inspired by the original Panda model from the 1980s. It is set to go on sale in Europe, Africa and Middle East, but the launch date and the pricing are still unknown.

Only the exterior has been revealed so far. It sports a boxy aesthetic with pixelated lights and 17-inch wheels. The Fiat lettering is integrated into the light signature at the front end and embossed near the left taillight at the back. Large embossed “Panda” lettering can also be found on the doors.

It would be reasonable to assume that, like the Citroen C3 before it, the Grande Panda will go on sale in hybrid and all-electric variants. The former relies on a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine in the C3, while the latter features a front-mounted motor with 113 PS (111 hp / 83 kW) and a battery with 44 kWh of capacity.
