Fiat Ulysse comes back with updated, all-electric design

Fiat used to offer an affordable minivan called Ulysse in Europe (see video), but its production ended in 2010. The model is now returning to the market with a fresh design and zero emissions.

Customers can choose between two battery sizes, 50 and 75 kilowatt-hours. Opting for the latter yields 330 km (205 miles) of driving autonomy. The electric motor is always the same at 137 PS (135 hp / 101 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The top speed is also rather tame at 130 km/h (81 mph).

The E-Ulysse offers extensive interior customization opportunities. For instance, you can turn the sets to face each other and put a folding table in the middle. Buyers have a total of 16 different configurations to select among.

Modern driving aids are not absent, either: there is emergency braking, pedestrian and traffic sign recognition, lane control, blind spot monitoring, and so on.
