Fisker teases a sub-$30k electric car due out in 2024

Fisker Automotive has begun collecting pre-orders for its second production car, the PEAR (Personal Electric Automotive Revolution). Prices will allegedly start from $29,900 USD when the car goes on sale 2024.

Information is very scarce at the moment. The sketches show what Fisker claims is a compact urban five-seater with a sporty demeanor, modern technology, an intuitive interface and a convenient trunk. Other than that, one of the images has a secret message hidden in it.

Specifically, the top-down view reveals what looks like LED stripes on the roof. A closer glance proves it is a coherent passage of text. Having said that, there is little of interest there – just some typical buzzwords expressing the designer’s philosophy and stating the mission (to make a comfortable city EV).

The production is expected start in Ohio, USA, with Apple device manufacturer Foxconn involved in the project. The collaboration between Fisker and Foxconn was announced in May, when the automaker teased a “revolutionary, yet affordable” car.
