Fisker has revealed an interesting feature its upcoming e-SUV Ocean will have. Called California Mode, it enables you to lower all the windows and open the hatch with a push of a button.
Unlike many convertibles that require you to hit the brakes before the roof can be folded or unfolded, the Fisker Ocean will allow you to do this at any traveling speed. A bit later, the company plans to add a dedicated California Mode button onto the key fob.
The vitamin D-friendly option is not the only novel feature the upcoming SUV has. For instance, its entire roof is covered in solar panels, and there are turn blinkers built into the c-pillars for greater visibility.
The Fisker Ocean will be driven by two electric motors linked to a large 80kWh battery for at least 300 miles (480 kilometers) of all-electric range. It is expected to hit the showrooms with a U.S. $40,000 price tag attached and share the customer base with the Tesla Model Y. The official introduction will occur in the coming January, but actual sales won’t begin until early 2021.
