Henrik Fisker, CEO of Fisker Inc. and designer of such icons as the Aston Martin DB9 and BMW Z8, keeps teasing us with new images of his upcoming Ocean EV.
The SUV packs quite a few interesting features already, such as the roof-mounted solar panels, pop-up handles, c-pillar blinkers, and a feature called California Mode (enables you to open the roof hatch and lower all the windows with a single button push). As it now turns out, another paid option comes in the form of backlit seats adorned with glowing Fisker Inc. emblems.
The company will showcase the Crystal lighting at the CES show in Las Legas on January 7, 2020. Two years ago, Fisker attended the CES with its first all-electric sedan project: the EMotion. Production had been scheduled for 2019, but the company never found a suitable factory.
In turn, the Fisker Ocean is scheduled for launch in 2021 and will mainly compete against the Tesla Model Y when (if?) it comes out. Customers will be given the option to rent it instead of buying, with rates starting from $379/month. The pre-orders are already open for anyone who has $250 to spare.
