Henrik Fisker flashes EV truck rear, erases post

The automotive designer unexpectedly posted a Tweet with the rear end of what looked like an unannounced pickup truck model, with the caption that read, ‘Electric pick up!’ He then proceeded to delete the tweet, and the company said it had no comments on what happened.

Fisker announced the development of two new all-electric vehicles last summer, both based on the Ocean SUV chassis (see video). Maybe this Alaska pickup truck is one of them; then again, maybe not.

Henrik Fisker hasn’t had much commercial success lately. His previous company went bankrupt, and the newly founded one lacks attention from major investors or manufacturers. The Fisker EMotion sedan/saloon concept revealed over two years ago still hasn’t reached the mass market, even though the company started accepting pre-orders ahead of its reveal.

The way things stand now, the Fisker Ocean SUV should finally make it into production in late 2021, with the actual shipments scheduled for late 2022. At this point, its main rival – the Tesla Model Y – looks far more promising in terms of both specs and pricing (min. 37,499 USD).

The alleged Alaska pickup certainly has the potential to sell well – but its future is anything if clear.
