Fisker Ocean e-SUV revealed in greater detail

Henrik Fisker’s company has posted new images and specs of its upcoming Tesla Model Y killer, the Fisker Ocean.

Today, we learned that the SUV is 4,640 mm (15.22 ft.) long, 1,930 mm (6.33 ft.) wide and 1,615 mm (5.3 ft.) tall. It has room for five inside the cabin, and the trunk takes in up to 566 liters (20 cubic feet) of stuff.

A vertical main display will dominate the center console, and the interior finish will involve recycled fishing nets and PET bottles.

All Ocean EVs except for the entry-level spec will ship with dual motors. The top specs will sprint 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in three seconds flat, beating the Model Y in this particular discipline. Furthermore, the Fisker Ocean will even start at a lower price point than the Tesla ($29,999 USD). However, its inferior 80-kWh battery will only yield around 500 km (310 miles) of range, and it will likely hit the market much later than the Model Y.

Fisker used to claim that the car had a ‘record-breaking short development phase’ and was nearly ready for mass production. Pre-orders were announced against the minimum deposit of $250. Despite this, the production launch remains scheduled for Q4 2020, and the actual shipments may begin even later than that.
