Fisker introduces a trio of production cars

Carmaker Fisker Inc. has held an event called Product Vision Day to showcase three new automobiles coming to the market.

The Pear is styled as an electric crossover SUV and boasts a rather original exterior with very slim lighting, a convex windshield and rather novel-looking c-pillars. One of its advertised features comes in the form of a tailgate nicknamed ‘Houdini trunk’, which slides down and disappears inside the bumper. The manufacturer believes such a design will come in handy in tight parking spots.

The SUV has two seat rows with a choice between five and six seats (that’s right, the latter configuration has a three-seat bench in the front row). Once charged, the e-SUV should yield around 300 miles (483 km) of driving range. Its starting price of $29,000 could make it one of the most affordable EVs in the United States when it goes on sale in mid-2025.

A similar-looking ‘Houdini’ solution can be observed on the Fisker Alaska, a pickup truck that lets you carry cargo up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) long with the gate lowered. With the boards up, the platform is just 1.4 meters (4.6 feet) long.

The Alaska is based on the same underpinnings as the manufacturer’s first model, the Ocean, but has less driving range. Depending on your choice of battery, it offers between 370 and 550 km (230 and 342 miles). The launch is penciled in for December 2024, and the estimated base price is $45,400.

Rounding off the lineup is the Ronin, the company’s flagship styled as a four-door convertible with a folding carbon-fiber hardtop and an active aero kit. It will ship with three electric motors on board together rated higher than 1,000 horsepower (750 kilowatts) and will sprint 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in roughly two seconds. The projected driving range per charge is also impressive at 1,000 km (621 miles). It will not go on sale until late 2025, but you can already leave a $2,000 deposit if interested. The final pricing is unknown at this moment.
