U.S. car manufacturer Ford has successfully registered two new trademarks, “Mach E” and “Mach-E”. A representative of the company has confirmed that Ford could use both trademarks for all-electric cars, as well as traditional sedans, pickups and SUVs.
Still, our colleagues from all over the world tend to agree that the Mach E is going to be an all-electric SUV styled similar to the Mustang series.
The company had earlier planned to re-use the name “Mach 1”, once used to describe one of the strongest incarnations of the Ford Mustang. However, this idea met with criticism on behalf of the retro car fans, so the company abandoned it.
We only know little about the upcoming environment-friendly SUV to date. It is going to get Mustang-style rear lights and a large infotainment display. It is also going to offer around 500 kilometers (310 miles) of driving distance once fully charged.
