This classy, classical Frankencar is up for sale on eBay right now

Even though car manufacturer Riley Motors went bankrupt in 1969, many of us still hold fond memories of its creations. Some even go as far as to reference them in their restomods – like the owner of this most unusual specimen somewhat reminiscent of the 1951 Riley convertible.

The flashy car manages to combine the features of Riley, Cadillac, Mercury and Ford cars in the same body. Its owner says it is based on the Ford platform and resembles the sixth-gen Mercury Cougar pony car on the inside.

The engine bay of this veritable Frankenstein monster of a car conceals an eight-cylinder Cadillac Northstar engine linked to an automatic transmission. If this isn’t exotic enough for you, consider that the engine is situated in the back, and the car is rear-driven.

On the outside, the unique convertible sports the original Riley bumper, fenders and radiator grille. We don’t have a clue as to the origins of its removable hard top, air intakes and running boards.

The ad doesn’t specify who was responsible for the tuning. The current owner of the car is willing to part with it for a mere U.S. $21,950 – and will even hear you out if you have an offer of your own.
