The big rig you can see here is actually a motorhome built by U.S. manufacturer EarthRoamer. It has a Ford F-750 at its core, but you will be forgiven for failing to spot that tiny truck bit.
The unique EarthRoamer XV-HD measures 10.67 meters (35 feet) long and 4.14 m (13.6 ft.) tall. It comes powered by a 6.7-liter diesel V8 rated at 330 hp (246 kW) and 680 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque. Don’t be misled into thinking that this is too much – in fact, the engine just about manages to lug the 15 metric tons (33,000 lbs) of car around.
Its creators emphasize that the XV-HD is a full-fledged off-roader: to that end, it features air-cushioned suspension, Fox shock absorbers on the rear axle, AWD, a fuel tank 435 liters (115 US gallons) large, Michelin XZL Wide Base 425/65 R22,5 tires, hydraulic height control, and a winch guaranteed to withstand the sheer weight of the car.
Travelers enjoy access to a fully equipped kitchen, two fridges, a washing machine with a dryer, a large dining area, beds, a shower, a WC, 950 liters (250 US gallons) of fresh water, and solar panels producing 2,100 watts of power per hour.
Getting your own truck outfitted like this would cost around $1,500,000.
